Weekly Production Cycle
Maritime Riot is operated by a dedicated, volunteer-led team of people who love music and love the local scene. We run updates to the site each Wednesday, so listings are fresh in time for the weekend. Our team actively seeks event information from local sources, such as venue websites, social media, etc.
If you have your event posted on a public calendar, social media, or other publicly available space, chances are, we’ll find it, but for the listings managed by our volunteer team, we do not provide guarantees your event will be included in our weekly cycle, and we do not guarantee your event listing will have all of the correct information.
Event Organizer Account
The best way to guarantee your event listing is to submit your event directly to us with an organizer account. This ensures your listing is included well in advance, with all of the correct details. There are currently 3 ways you can submit events directly:
- Set up an Organizer Account – This is the best way to ensure your event has all of the correct info, categories, etc. Local bands, venues, and event organizers are invited to create an account so you will have access to create events directly on Maritime Riot. We will provide assistance and training. To set up your organizer account, email us at: info@maritimeriot.ca.
- Calendar Invite – If you use an online calendar to plan your events, you can submit your listing by emailing an invite to: events@maritimeriot.ca.
- Spreadsheet – You can send us a spreadsheet with all of your upcoming events. Be sure to include ALL of the required details, such as the event title, description, full address, etc, and send your spreadsheet in CSV format. You can download a template for your spreadsheet here. Email your completed CSV file to: events@maritimeriot.ca.
Event listing fees
At this time, there are no fees to submit your event, but we encourage donations.
Other Formats
At this time we do not accept event submissions in other formats. Examples of formats we cannot accept include:
- Facebook Posts – Facebook events are good, but Facebook posts are not, as they do not include all of the required info.
- Event posters, poster images, or screenshots – With an organizer account, you can include an event poster in your event listing – but event posters alone are not enough.
- Link to events – With an organizer account, you can include a link to an online event posting, but a link to an online event listing is not enough for an event listing.
- Email / Text / private message – At this time we do not accept event info from emails, texts, or private messages
Verified sources only
Our team only includes event details from sources where event details can be verified in written form. Event details such as the address, price, bands playing, or special categories, are only included if they are clearly and explicitly provided in writing in a source created by the event organizer(s). Event details are not accepted verbally, by email, or by social media.
