After touring across North America in the 1970’s with multiple large acts\, Sam recorded his long awaited debut album\, New Moon in 1982. This was followed in 2017 by the popular release Never Let Me Go. He has contributed songs to many artists’ recordings over the span of his impressive 50 years in music. Along the way\, Sam Moon has shared the stage with many artists past and present\, including The Band\, Delbert McClinton\, The Guess Who\, The Beach Boys and April Wine. Sam continues to perform in duo format with Dave MacKeigan (Sam and Dave)\, as well as in Sam Moon and the Kozmic Roadhouse Band\, and the newly formed Sam and Dave and Solar Eclipse. Sam’s voice\, energy and stage presence remains dynamic and engaging\, while he still wears his trademark moo moo stage costumes to the thrill of many many long standing\, loyal fans.\nDave MacKeigan: Originally from Sydney Mines\, Nova Scotia\, Dave’s family moved to Halifax for work early in his life. He entered the music world through the Halifax City School Music program\, playing stringed instruments ranging from ukulele to double bass. After high school Dave went on the road playing rock and country music full time\, following Sam Moon\, The Oakley Band\, and Matt Minglewood. After 5 years of touring\, Dave worked full time outside of music but kept playing part time. For the last decade he has been playing in a duo with Sam Moon and hopes to keep music flowing for many years to come.\nPaula Jardine: Born in Thunder Bay Ontario to Miramichi parents\, Paula was raised in Blackville NB since childhood. Surrounded by her mother’s large family of talented Acadian musicians\, she picked up the guitar early and began playing at the fishing camps and Miramichi hootenannies by age 15. She performed locally and then spread out to the Fredericton area during university. With strong entrepreneurial spirit\, she and two friends opened a live music bar in downtown Fredericton called the Attic on King. There\, she supported the local music scene and fostered the grass roots beginnings of the Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival\, while honing her own craft as a rhythm guitar player and highly engaging singer/entertainer. She joined the Canadian Armed Forces at age 26 and completed a 20 year career as an Naval officer\, travelling the world and playing her music every chance she could. She has played local venues in the Atlantic provinces for the last 17 years\, as a soloist (Acoustic River Revival) and in bands such as the Homeless Houseband\, 32 Front Street\, Dusty Angels\, Teddy’s Roadhouse\, and Sam Moon and the Kozmic Roadhouse.\neventbrite.ca/e/sam-moon-dave-mackeigan-paula-jardine-harvest-music-festival-matinee-tickets\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/466759389596861/

SUMMARY:Jon McKiel/Dusted (holy fuck)/Owen Steel
DESCRIPTION:All ages show featuring the amazing Jon McKiel\, Dusted (Brian Borcherdt of Holy Fuck) and Owen Steel. All ages\, $15 advance $20 at the door.\nDoors 8pm/Show 9pm\nJon Mckiel returns with a highly anticipated new album\, the long-awaited follow-up to his underground classic Bobby Joe Hope!\nThe songs of Jon McKiel are born of the bruised marshlands of remote New Brunswick\, from the craggy shores of the Atlantic coast; places where nature is a powerful wonder and the made-world is in slow decay. His new album\, Hex\, is a bloodshot pop record steeped in our dystopian present\, tempered\, across its ten tracks\, by an existential umami.\nBrian Borcherdt aka Dusted is best known as founding member of the Polaris Prize-shortlisted electro-experimental band Holy Fuck.\nThis project serves as a vehicle for more traditional songwriting\, although the sound retains many of the experimental elements he’s become known for. Dusted III offers a meditation on change and rebirth that all of us can relate to at this moment.\n“Steel has never failed to capture his audience’s attention with his own special blend of folk\, psychedelia\, and experimental bits and bites\, woven together in patchwork fashion…There is a timeless quality in much of what he does. He is an old soul. Maybe there is a connection there. A formula few have discovered. Whatever the case may be\, Steel has a new album and it is everything fans of his music could hope for.” – Matt Carter for Grid City Magazine.\n——\nAccessibility\nHaven Music Hall is a street-level small music venue without fixed seating. This show is combination standing and seating room only. Our entrance exterior is a 34″ wide door that has a small lip/step up from the street. Once inside\, our entrance vestibule has three steps up into the space with an interior entrance opening of 70″. We have two single-use washrooms with toilets. If you’d like more information about accessing our space please email abigail@havenmusichall.com.\nAll Ages Show Details\nThis is a wet/dry show\, meaning both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks are served. All patrons will be ID’d upon entry and given a coloured bracelet corresponding with their ticket type (19+ or -19). Bartenders will also be checking IDs at the bar. During all ages shows we are careful not to serve multiple drinks to one person\, so if you’re buying your 19+ friend a beer please bring them to the bar to order with you! All ages are welcome but only 19+ patrons with ID’s may purchase alcohol. Patrons aged 15 and under must be accompanied by a guardian.\nSafer Spaces Policy/Code of Conduct\nHaven Music Hall (HMH) is committed to ensuring a safer show experience for musicians\, audiences\, staff\, and volunteers. As event coordinators we prioritize the experiences of the musicians\, staff\, and audience members\, so patrons who are being disruptive to the performance or bothering staff will be asked to stop their disruptive actions\, and may/or be asked to leave the premises\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/1585071465759627/

SUMMARY:Lemon Bucket Orkestra
DESCRIPTION:Lemon Bucket Orkestra are Toronto’s original guerrilla-folk party-punk massive. The multi-award-winning ensemble has been heralded as a groundbreaking\, genre-bending phenomenon by media and fans alike\, and over the past 13 years they have performed all over the world from WOMAD in New Zealand and Pohoda in Slovakia\, to Festival D’Été in Québec City\, and Luminato in Toronto. The Guardian proclaimed that their performances are “gorgeously sung and passionately played” and The New York Times declared them “charismatic…handsome and ambitious.”\nEqual parts exhilarating precision and reckless abandon\, LBO’s live shows are a truly immersive experience ranging from the ecstatic to the cathartic and all points in between. Now they have been weaving that unique blend of energy and emotion onto their upcoming album Cuckoo. Set for release in May 2024\, the new record pens strong lines through powerful Ukrainian polyphony\, driving Balkan rhythms\, and a deep undertone of modern Western sensibilities. This mixture of Eastern Europe and the America’s is further elevated with the special feature of Macedonian master trumpeter\, hailing from Kocani Orkestar\, Nizo Alimov.\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/2217286708608805/

DESCRIPTION:Preeper Rhaye MacKay\, a captivating folk trio featuring guitarist Bill Preeper\, the enchanting vocals of Jessica Rhaye\, and the versatile multi-instrumentalist Sandy MacKay.\nInitially collaborating in the folk-rock ensemble The Ramshackle Parade\, they have now crafted a distinctive Maritime Appalachian sound.\nTheir music seamlessly blends acoustic and electric elements\, delivering lush three-part harmonies and elegant\, straightforward arrangements. With their original compositions\, they draw inspiration from folk legends like Woody Guthrie\, Ian Tyson\, and Bob Dylan\, while evoking the intricate vocal blends reminiscent of a modern-day Peter\, Paul & Mary. SUMMARY:Yoo Doo Right/Ky
DESCRIPTION:Experimental rock trio Yoo Doo Right (Montréal\, CA) wed noisy\, melodic guitar parts\, effects-laden synthesizer soundscapes\, deep bass grooves and patented percussive furies into sprawling\, cathartic musical pieces. Drawing inspiration from post-rock\, krautrock\, shoegaze\, classical music\, electroacoustics\, and musique concrète\, they create a unique sound where “towering monoliths of roaring riffs crash against swarms of restless rhythms” (Pop Matters). Since 2016\, they have released two full-lengths (Don’t Think You Can Escape Your Purpose\, A Murmur\, Boundless to the East)\, three EPs (Nobody Panicked and Everybody Got On\, EP2\, The Sacred Fuck EP)\, and a few singles\, including a 7” split with Acid Mothers Temple\, whilst touring extensively in Canada\, the United and Europe. Along the way\, they have performed at notorious events such as SXSW\, Levitation\, Dunk! Fest\, Sled Island\, Treefort Music Fest\, and M for Montreal\, also opening for the likes of Acid Mothers Temple\, DIIV\, A Place to Bury Strangers\, Wooden Shjips\, Kikagaku Moyo\, FACS\, and Jessica. Scheduled for November 8th\, 2024 via Mothland\, From the Heights of Our Pastureland is yet another solemn if defiant entry in Yoo Doo Right’s rich music catalogue\, an honest and patient sonic poem about the destructive process of unbridled expansion in the name of “progress”\, the inevitable collapse and what it means to rebuild. \nKy is the new “solo” project of Ky Brooks\, best known as vocalist and lyricist of noise-punk trio Lungbutter and a slew of other Montréal-based out-music projects like 8-person queer punk band Femmaggots and experimental/improv trio Nag. Their 2023 debut\, Power Is The Pharmacy\, is an album of cerebral and visceral outsider artpunk “mainly about grief\, death\, the fear of loss\, losing dreams\, losing youth\, people\, public space\, ultimately oneself”—an emotionally electrifying\, genre-spanning collection of songs fuelled by Ky’s piercing poetry\, both spoken and sung\, that delivers an acute blend of incisive socio-political observation and spiritual sadness\, swirling through vortices of disenchantment and re-enchantment. \nDoors 7pm/show 8pm \nall ages \nAdvance $15/Door $20 \nTickets on sale now! \nAccessibility  \nHaven Music Hall is a street-level small music venue without fixed seating. DESCRIPTION:doors 7pm / show 8pm\n12 adv / 15 door\nDahL (Montréal)\nhttps://dahlband.bandcamp.com/album/thats-it\nDahL is an experimental pop outfit based in Montreal who combine elements of 90’s trip hop\, post-punk\, and art rock. The founding members\, Bryan and Nassir are originally from Calgary\, Alberta and have collaborated on music\, writing\, and videos for over a decade. DahL’s music creates a foundation of syncopated rhythm and sonic texture to form fluid structures that find their cadence through space\, patience\, and story.
