SUMMARY:Dillon Ryan & The Dream Romantic - “In Polaroid” Album Release Fredericton
DESCRIPTION:Dillon Ryan & The Dream Romantic launch their new album “In Polaroid” April 27th in Fredericton at Broken Record Room & Bar with Special Guests IPACO and The Gregories\nDoors open at 8 PM\nshow at 9:30 PM\nTickets are $10 adv/$15 at the door\nStudents $5 at the door only\nhttps://locarius.io/events/703/dillon-ryan-the-dream-romantic-in-polaroid-album-release-fredericton-with-ipaco\nDillon Ryan & the Dream Romantic are an infectiously talented and refreshingly distinctive new wave band from the East Coast of Canada. The band is authentically breathing new life into the underexplored genres of new wave\, goth and post punk. Their inspiration from the Smiths\, Echo & Bunnymen and the Cure is marvelously palpable in their material yet their work remains completely fresh. Their hauntingly melodic landscapes swallow you into a cinematic gothic universe. It’s soothing yet scary and you just can’t get enough.\nThe perpetually evolving artist shows no signs of slowing down. It is clear he was born to play music and that trajectory has led him down an illustrious path. Dillon Ryan & The Dream Romantic weave melodic lullabies and gothic ballads that cling to listeners. Their poetic songwriting paired with a beautifully melancholic sonic landscape is an enthralling void to lose yourself to. In a world oversaturated with pathological positivity it’s exciting to hear such an emotionally generous band. Their music somehow makes you want to dance and cry at the same time\, it’s a rare and honest dichotomy.\nIPAco\nFormed in 2023\, IPAco (E-Pah-Co: Ian Paolo Acosta & Co.) is a Neo-Soul and RnB trio comprising seasoned musicians Ian Acosta\, Von Escueta\, and Jansen Felicidario. With their collective experience and passion\, they deliver soul-stirring melodies that promise an unforgettable musical journey. Experience the magic of IPAco\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/1093310925282028/

SUMMARY:Len O'Neill/Tom Lutz/Marc McLaughlin At Broken Record
DESCRIPTION:A trio of roots/Americana singer songwriters will take the stage at Broken Record for an evening of song and story\nDoors at 8 PM\nShow at 9 PM\n$10 at the door\nLen O’Neill is a songwriter from St. John’s\, Newfoundland. His songs are poetic in style and personal in scope. Here’s what songwriter John Moran has to say about Len’s work:\n“He’s got songs that are meaningful in a way that most songwriters struggle to achieve\, he’s not just stringing together a bunch of lyrics and chords that sound cool – he’s speaking from the heart and giving you something you might need. He writes in the way that you’d hope to be spoken to by a good friend during a challenging time.”\nHis debut solo album Out Of View comes out in April 2024\nTommy Lutz is a singer-songwriter who hails from Nova Scotia but lives in rural New Brunswick. He specializes in original stories and songs in the folk and traditional realm\, but likes to mix in a good rock and roll song to keep things fresh!\nMarc McLaughlin\, a versatile singer-songwriter from Newfoundland & Labrador now in New Brunswick\, gained acclaim with his 2023 EP\, ‘I Don’t Want to Be Blue Anymore\,’ featuring emotive guitar-driven rock. His upcoming fall 2024 EP expands his range with piano melodies and drum machines\, while live shows highlight his intimate solo performances on piano and guitar. He’s also contributed to notable East Coast acts like Weary\, Strongboy\, and Bleu.\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/1211196513096870/

SUMMARY:Absolute Losers/Prism Shores/Townie/Owen Steel
DESCRIPTION:Come on out to Haven Music Hall on May 24 to see ABSOLUTE LOSERS\, PRISM SHORES\, TOWNIE\, and OWEN STEEL!!! \nDoors 7pm\nShow 8pm\n19+\n$10+tax advance\, $15+tax at the door! \nSince forming in 2019\, Absolute Losers have earned a reputation for their air-tight live shows that deliver one burst of energy after the next. In August of 2023\, they released their debut album\, “At The Mall\,” a danceable 12-track offering that confronts hardships without taking itself too seriously. On their debut\, the band camouflages pop sensibilities with wiry guitar work\, intertwining bass and drum parts\, and hook-laden\, nonchalant vocals. In their latest efforts\, Absolute Losers shed the camouflage and proudly bear their knack for catchy melodies\, soaring harmonies\, and straight-to-point pop songwriting.\nShaped by the aesthetic sensibilities of vintage UK/New Zealand indie pop\, Montreal’s Prism Shores blend the genre’s jangling guitars and deliberate melodies with traces of shoegaze\, dream pop\, and post-punk\, refracting their influences through a lens distinctly their own. Their sophomore album is due out in January 2025.\nBorn out of postcards and long distance phone calls between friends\, Townie’s trio of songwriters collaborates with a prolific group of musicians across the country\, featuring three insightful and unique voices\, they draw influence from folk revival with a DIY ethos.\nSince 2008\, Owen Steel has written and released various folk / garage sounds under his own name\, as well as with such acts as The Belle Comedians\, Mike Trask\, Dana Sipos\, and Motherhood. He has toured from Newfoundland to the Yukon\, Texas to Sweden and points in between\, appearing at folk festivals\, freak festivals\, basement bars\, soft seaters\, pizza joints and more; By thumb\, boat\, band van and train\, Steel has made his way under the radar and into the ears of a small but mighty group of listeners.\n——–\nAccessibility\nHaven Music Hall is a street-level small music venue without fixed seating. This show is combination standing and seating room only. Our entrance exterior is a 34″ wide door that has a small lip/step up from the street. Once inside\, our entrance vestibule has three steps up into the space with an interior entrance opening of 70″. We have two single-use washrooms with toilets. If you’d like more information about accessing our space please email abigail@havenmusichall.com.\nSafer Spaces Policy/Code of Conduct\nHaven Music Hall (HMH) is committed to ensuring a safer show experience for musicians\, audiences\, staff\, and volunteers. If you see or experience any form of harassment or abuse please inform the bar staff on site. If you experience harassment or abuse and wish to inform us after the fact please email abigail@havenmusichall.com. This email is read by the HMH owners only and any reports of safety violations will be treated as confidential. Incidents that are reported in real time are written up by the handling staff member and are confidential and kept on file. Abuse and harassment of an audience member\, musician\, HMH staff\, security\, or volunteers will result in immediate ejection from the premises\, potential probationary period\, and potential banning from the premises. As event coordinators we prioritize the experiences of the musicians\, staff\, and audience members\, so patrons who are being disruptive to the performance or bothering staff will be asked to stop their disruptive actions\, and may/or be asked to leave the premises.\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/453250937093490/
