From headlining major festivals\, concerts\, special guest appearances (Rita MacNeils CTV Christmas Special\, performing with The Chieftains) television specials\, film and television placement (Men with Brooms Soundtrack; Racket In The Attic) and their annual Christmas tour\, they have set the course with a solid foundation for success. The Barra MacNeils one-hour Christmas Television Special (2000) continues to be broadcast on Country Music Television (CMT) and on the Public Broadcasting Services (PBS) network in the United States. December 2007 saw the broadcast of a new Christmas Special which will no doubt also become part of the holiday season for years to come.\nThe Barra MacNeils continues to do what they love to do best\, and that is playing their music for the fans. SUMMARY:Wild Pink + knitting + Travis J. FLynn
DESCRIPTION:THURSDAY JANUARY 22 ❄️\nthe CAP\nDoors 8:30 / Show 9\nWhat started out as a pandemic hibernation project is now the fully fledged Montreal indie rock unit\, knitting. With evocative storytelling and a dry sense of humour\, knitting crafts guitar-driven and lyrically introspective indie rock that evokes the nostalgia of 90s alternative bands like Pavement\, Pixies\, and Sonic Youth.\nThrough precise lyricism\, brash guitar solos\, and whispered vocals\, knitting brings to life Dempsey’s experiences as a twenty-something transitioning and learning to understand themself in Montreal. At once massive and intimate\, Some Kind of Heaven is a rock record you can blast with your friends or listen to alone in your room\, when you’re feeling alienated from everything you know—and wondering if anyone else is\, too.\n❄️\n“Do you still believe it?” John Ross asks that question after journeying through the wreckage\, after singing of thunder rolling down the track and lighting in a bottle. These are tropes\, and he knows it. It’s a moment where he’s returning to the ancient wisdom of his classic rock forebears\, trying to find the answers all over again. This is the ground Ross travels in “The Fences Of Stonehenge\,” the lead single\, opening track\, and mission statement of the new Wild Pink album Dulling The Horns. The question reverberates across the album: “Do you still believe it?” And what happens when you don’t anymore?\nShivering Songs is flagship partner of Fredericton FROSTival ☃️\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/2048666165894981/

Along the way\, they have released 2 albums\, earning them 2 ECMA nominations in 2025\, along with 1 MusicNB award nomination in 2021\, and a #1 spot on the national jazz charts for their debut album.\nFredericton-based My Black Ram wear their influences like patches on a jean jacket: post-punk indie rock\, synth pop\, and experimental ambience. It shouldn’t make sense but it does. The result is fuzzed-out catchy rock that is at once familiar and fresh.\nOrchidae is the project of Gatineau based Canadian Taiwanese artist Yolande Laroche. Her debut album True Beginning\, out April 4 2025 (Birthday Cake Records) marks Yolande’s first step as a lead songwriter after a decade of experience playing as a core member of art-rock band Pony Girl (Paper Bag Records). SUMMARY:Mo Kenney + Charlotte Cornfield
DESCRIPTION:FRIDAY JANUARY 23 ❄️\nWilmot United Church\nDoors 7 PM / Show 8 PM\nPasses for Shivering Songs 2026 and individual show tickets are on sale now! 🎟 You can find more information and artist details at www.shiveringsongs.com\nOn their fifth studio album\, From Nowhere\, Mo Kenney embraces the textures of ambiguity and the rich blur of being\, failing\, and becoming. As they shift through lush arrangements that touch on dreamy folk\, sparse alt-country\, and warm\, hazed-out lo-fi pop\, everything is up for interpretation and nothing is fixed. In their lyrics\, Kenney opts instead to defy definition\, making room for non-linear and fragmentary sentiments that challenge their own feelings about personal growth\, acknowledge the slippery and shadowy nature of memory\, and build love songs that conjure the bonds of friendship just as much as they hint at romance.\n❄️\nIn 2021 Highs in the Minuses became Charlotte Cornfield’s break-out—a magnetic mission-statement for the Toronto songwriter described by Rolling Stone as “Canada’s best-kept secret.” Cornfield emerged from pandemic seclusion with new fans\, raised expectations\, and her first major US tour. She could have kept touring forever; she could have fled to the woods with a four-track. She could have done anything. What she did was jump into an old Subaru\, driving seven hours south to the Hudson Valley. The car didn’t have any A/C; she had only recently earned her license; and she had never met the producer she was driving down to meet. But when Cornfield arrived in Hurley\, NY\, at the red-steepled church that is now Dreamland Recording Studios\, she was ready for whatever came next. “There was this letting go of some of the strongheaded-ness that I think I used to have\,” she says\, “and an embracing of the open-endedness of life.”\nShivering Songs is a flagship partner of Fredericton FROSTival ☃️\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/1197085768977698/

DESCRIPTION:FRIDAY JANUARY 23\nPar 94\nDoors 8:30 PM / Show 9 PM\nVisit www.shiveringsongs.com to find more festival information and to see full artist details\nIguanodon\, a four-piece instrumental rock band from Fredericton\, New Brunswick\, combine fusion\, psychedelia\, jam\, and funk to create a powerful live experience. With infectious rhythms and immersive soundscapes\, their performances leave audiences energized and craving more.\nThe intricate harmonies of sisters Moira & Claire first rang out from the backseat of the family car on cross-country road trips when they were kids. They’ve come a long way since\, but the roots of their musical chemistry remain the same. Their songwriting is full of subtle sophistication\, perfectly unexpected moments\, and hard-won lyrical wisdom. The clever simplicity they’re able to draw out of life’s complexities give their songs a knack for going viral. A new album – ‘it’s all a mess!’ – is due in early 2026\, with singles beginning in Oct 2025.\nMighty Fine Pines are a unique and engaging Alt/Folk duo from the Kingston Peninsula\, New Brunswick. Their harmonized vocals\, acoustic guitar and unique percussion pieces tell their story of intentional living while inspiring messages of environmental and social justice. As the founder of New Brunswick’s Sleepy Driver\, he’s built a celebrated catalog of roots-infused Americana across six albums. Writing has always been his constant—songs\, poetry\, and stories of every length. His latest romantic comedy\, Roughing It\, is out now.\nBruce Hughes\, born in Saint John\, is a retired educator and youth worker with a lifelong passion for music and writing. A guitarist\, singer\, and songwriter for more than 45 years\, he has written\, recorded\, and earned airplay with several New Brunswick bands\, including Blind Dog\, The UnHeard\, and his current project\, Bruce Hughes & The Northside Nomads. He holds a BA in Political Science and Psychology from UNB. After a series of rare strokes in 2017 left him paralyzed from the neck down\, Bruce made a remarkable recovery and now serves as the Patient Experience Advisor of Therapeutic Services at Horizon Health\, supporting stroke patients and their families. His memoir\, A Stroke of Luck: Music\, Medicine and a Miraculous Recovery\, has been widely praised\, earning multiple Top 5 placements in NB by Atlantic Books Today in 2025\, including two months at #1. Bruce lives in Fredericton with his wife\, Monica\, and their lifesaving dog\, Willow\, and has been touring the Maritimes with interviews and book-signing events\, sharing his message of hope.\nEric LeBlanc\, born and raised in Fredericton\, is a graduate of UNB with a Bachelor of Education. His wide-ranging career has included work as a labourer\, construction foreman\, electrician\, proof-reader\, sports writer\, advertising salesman\, creative copywriter\, supply teacher\, and customer service representative. In 1980 Eric established the Grasse Circle Jam which ran monthly for over 40 years. He is a longtime musician who has performed in rock\, R&B bands\, and singer-songwriter settings\, frequently contributing to local fundraising events. In addition to his new short-story collection\, Stories & Friends\, Eric has released two albums and a songbook of original music.\nAbout our moderator:\nChuck Bowie\, born in Miramichi\, graduated from the UNB with a Bachelor of Science. He is the author of suspense-thrillers and cozys. His writing is shaped by his fascination with human behaviour\, and his love of food\, wine\, music\, and travel—all of which find their way into his work. His latest novel\, Death Between the Cays\, was written under pseudonym Alexa Bowie\nShivering Songs is a flagship partner of #FROSTival ☃️\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/1210163637849192/

SUMMARY:Dan Mangan + Amy Millan
DESCRIPTION:SATURDAY JANUARY 24 ❄️\nWilmot United Church\nDoor 7:30 / Show 8:00\nvisit www.shiveringsongs.com to find more information and festival passes 🎶\nDan Mangan is a two-time JUNO award-winning & three-time Polaris Music Prize listed musician and songwriter. He lives in Vancouver\, British Columbia with his wife and two sons. He has scored Hector And The Search For Happiness\, a feature film\nstarring Simon Pegg\, as well as TV series’ Hilda (Netflix) and Unspeakable (CBC/AMC). Dan is also a co-founder of Side Door\, an online platform that matches artists with spaces to create shows anytime\, anywhere.\n❄️\nThe first solo album from Amy Millan in over 15 years\, I Went To Find You emerged from the kind of once-in-a-lifetime serendipity that alters our experience of the world. After crossing paths with award-winning musician/composer Jay McCarrol in fall 2023\, the Montreal-based singer/songwriter felt a sense of musical communion reminiscent of the elation she’d first accessed in singing with her father as a little girl—a connection severed when her dad was killed in a car accident just before her fifth birthday. As she began creating songs with McCarrol\, Millan slowly realized that an unconscious desire to sustain that feeling had informed her lifelong devotion to music and her many cherished collaborations over the years\, including her work as co-founder of beloved indie-pop band Stars and a satellite member of iconic collective Broken Social Scene.\nShivering Songs is a flagship partner of Fredericton FROSTival ☃️\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/1359612328537783/
