SUMMARY:Johnny Cullen/Ella Campbell in Saint John
DESCRIPTION:Join us in welcoming Breakout artist Ella Campbell and Johnny Cullen to the wasted day stage.\nDoors at 8:00 PM\nShow starts at 8:30 PM\nEntry $10 at the door\nElla Campbell Is a 21 year old up and coming artist from Fredericton\, NB Canada. Ella plays a mix of country and rock leaning towards the country/American side of things. Her vocals are beyond her years and is what captivates people. Music has always been a huge part of her life. Growing up\, she had neighbors from Newfoundland who quickly became family and music was a huge part of their life. From ages 2-14 her and her family would spend almost every weekend at their place playing good music\, celebrating life\, family\, and friends. Naturally music quickly became a huge part of my life. At the age of 5 years old I started to learn guitar from a family friend and I’ve been singing and playing since. Ella loves how music brings people together through singing along and having a good time and that’s why I love to do it. Ella draws influence from artists such as; Bruce Springsteen\, Bryan Adams\, Christ Stapleton and Zach Bryan Ella is just getting started and is turning heads in the Fredericton area and looking to spread her wings. Right now Ella is playing a great mix of cover songs but is working on writing some originals right now.\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/880391150178997/

SUMMARY:DahL + Shriven + Doctor Mother Father at Haven Music Hall
DESCRIPTION:doors 7pm / show 8pm\n12 adv / 15 door\nDahL (Montréal)\nhttps://dahlband.bandcamp.com/album/thats-it\nDahL is an experimental pop outfit based in Montreal who combine elements of 90’s trip hop\, post-punk\, and art rock. The founding members\, Bryan and Nassir are originally from Calgary\, Alberta and have collaborated on music\, writing\, and videos for over a decade. DahL’s music creates a foundation of syncopated rhythm and sonic texture to form fluid structures that find their cadence through space\, patience\, and story. Liselle’s captivating lyrics suggest settings that are often urban and self-reflective in its social commentary. DahL brings an unapologetic energy that perfectly catches the listener off guard with a live performance that engages a sense of playfulness and cynicism\, encouraging the carefree moment.\n2024 has seen DahL release their first full-length album “That’s It” as well as perform at Fredericton’s Shivering Songs\, Montreal’s Taverne Tour\, No Signal Fest\, and Ottawa’s Side by Side Weekend.\nShriven (Fredericton)\nhttps://shriven.bandcamp.com/album/saints-rest\nShriven is NB’s newest rock band made by Carter Boyle\, Blake Creamer\, and Charles Harding. SUMMARY:Les Hay Babies + Kaia Kater at Wilmot United Church
DESCRIPTION:Les Hay Babies + Kaia Kater at Wilmot United Church\nDoors 7pm / Show 8pm\nAll Ages\nTickets + Passes: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/shiveringsongs?\nPasses grant access to all events including The Fredericton Playhouse.\nLes Hay Babies\, one of Canada’s hottest francophone bands\, have been bringing forth their sparkling\, multifaceted folk-rock for over a decade. New Brunswick-born Acadians Julie Aubé\, Katrine Noël and Vivianne Roy were friends before joining their voices to a common project and thus strengthening the bonds that unite them through the music they create—as long as fun comes before work\, and work is done while having fun\nKaia Kater’s new album\, Strange Medicine (coming May 2024 on Free Dirt Records)\, opens with a haunting vision. Accompanied by Aoife O’Donovan\, Kater sings of the women burned at the stake as witches in 17th century Salem\, Massachusetts and their wish to strike back: “I dreamt I moved through you and / Burned my name into your chest”. It’s an opening salvo from an album that celebrates the power of women and oppressed people throughout history as they rise up and turn the poison of centuries of oppression into a strange kind of medicine. Kater’s songs are dialogues with these historical figures and meditations on her own modern life as well. In the years since her 2018 album\, Grenades\, on Smithsonian Folkways\, Kater has taken time to reinvent herself and hone her skills\, first attending film school to learn composition\, then diving deeper into her songwriting to come up with her most personal album yet. Feeling the pressure as a talented young songwriter\, banjo player\, and bandleader with three successful albums and an NPR Tiny Desk Concert under her belt\, Kater struggled initially with the expectations of her adopted genre\, Americana. “I was factoring everybody else’s perception into my songwriting\,” she says. “Would I write more honestly if I knew that no one would ever hear this?” With that in mind\, Kater retreated to her apartment in Montréal. Sitting at home with her banjo\, the songs unfolded in personal intimacy\, revealing windows into the perspective of women and revolutionaries through history. Co-producing with Joe Grass (Elisapie\, The Barr Brothers)\, Kater invited close friends and colleagues O’Donovan and Allison Russell to sing on the album\, along with longtime hero and American legend Taj Mahal. With lush arrangements and unexpected musical ideas drawn from genres as surprising as minimalist composition\, jazz drumming\, and film scores\, Strange Medicine is the bold next step in Kater’s career. It’s an album made beyond the white gaze of Americana\, unbeholden to a music industry that so often tokenizes and silences marginalized voices\, a Black Feminist perspective on a genre that refuses to cede power to Black women. But ultimately it’s a celebration of the self. The words of the poem “won’t you celebrate with me” by Lucille Clifton echoed in Kater’s ears throughout the process of making this album.\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/598027199353784/

SUMMARY:Shivering Songs 2025: Motherhood 'Thunder Perfect Mind' Album Launch with Teke Teke + Good Dear Good
DESCRIPTION:Motherhood + Teke Teke + Good Dear Good at Fredericton Farmers’ Market\nDoors 8:30pm / Show 9pm\nWet / Dry\nFFO: Beach Boys\, Deerhoof\, Modest Mouse\, Osees\nPlayful as a puppy but smart as a whip\, New Brunswick\, Canada’s MOTHERHOOD has a knack for packing deeply conceptual art rock into a delightfully unpretentious package. Oft-described as “evil Beach Boys”\, the trio blends the ferocity of punk\, the finesse of surf\, and the raw energy of garage into something as complex as it is endearing.\nTheir forthcoming full-length\, Thunder Perfect Mind\, narrates the sudden abduction of an unsuspecting pedestrian by a “dark\, expanding Cloud”. To eclipse what controls\, the only way out is through. But what lies beyond the Cloud?\nInfluenced as much by Bad Brains as Ennio Morricone\, Motherhood happily march to the beat of their own maniacal drum. Motherhood’s genius lies in their ability to set deep thoughts to rippin’ riffs\, Trojan horsing their serpentine songwriting under the guise of rock n’ roll.\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/4058435241052610/

SUMMARY:Rencontre apéro avec Mona Parent - Salon IGG - 18h
DESCRIPTION:Originaire de Campbellton.

SUMMARY:Sam Tudor & Pallmer at the Saint John Arts Centre
DESCRIPTION:Saint John Arts Centre – 20 Peel Plaza\, Saint John\, NB E2L 3G6\n7:00PM Doors\n7:30PM Showtime\n$12 in advance | $15 at the door | pay what you can\nSam Tudor is both an individual and a project involving a group of friends in Canada. The underpinnings of the songs are genre-less; jazz players join forces with Eno inspired beats while acoustic guitars meet distorted synths. What unifies the project is Tudor’s distinct voice: a sandy\, melancholic narrator\, leaning in close with confessional and cathartic writing. The band’s live show is reverent and at times bombastic – a celebration of community done with an easy virtuosity born from years playing music together.\nThe band’s latest release is their 2024 EP Hidden Minute. Their most recent full length album\, Two Half Words\, was released in 2021. Tudor and the band have toured in Canada\, Japan\, the United States and more. They have received coverage and acclaim from VICE Magazine\, KEXP Radio\, Exclaim Magazine\, CBC Afterdark\, The Vancouver Sun and others.\nThe evening will begin with an opening set by Fredericton’s Pallmer. Pallmer is an experimental chamber-pop trio born from late night improv sessions during a particularly snowy winter in New Brunswick\, Canada. With Emily Kennedy on cello & vocals\, Mark Kleyn on viola\, and Charles Harding on synthesizers\, the band draws from their backgrounds in classical music and sound art\, transcending genre and standard instrumentation. Cups n Cakes Mag praised Pallmer’s debut album “Swimming\,” stating the album is “a cohesive and compelling album that can’t help but transport the listener through memory\, imagination\, and back to the present\, quiet moment.”\nSam Tudor: https://samtudor.bandcamp.com/album/hidden-minute\nPallmer: https://pallmer.bandcamp.com/album/swimming\nAdvance tickets close at 12:00PM on March 4th – tickets are available at the door.\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/659445093084942/
