SUMMARY:Papa John Witterick
DESCRIPTION:PAPA JOHN WITTERICK came up the same as many before him: by finding his way to the purest of blues through the music of contemporary Blues artists\, and working his way back in time. John now sings the praises of pioneers such as Son House\, Tampa Red\, Robert Nighthawk\, Howlin’ Wolf\, Muddy Waters\, and Johnny Winter\, for whom he had the pleasure to open in 1992.\nJohn plays Blues from almost everywhere – Mississippi\, Chicago\, Memphis\, St. Louis\, Texas – but his favourite remains the Deep Delta songs that reflect so much of the social and political history of the Deep South.\nThe best way to experience Papa John is to see him testify his love of the Blues\, live and in person. Treat yourself to a throwback in time\, a juke joint experience\, and let the good times roll!\nCover is $10 at the door.\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/1832264537294721/

SUMMARY:Valmy & Sarah McInnis LIVE in Wolfville
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a beautiful evening of music at the Manning Memorial Chapel in Wolfville\, NS.\n.\n.\nDoors open 6:30PM\, with the show starting at 7PM.\nThere will be two sets of music with a break in between.\n$16 advance // $20 door\nTickets at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/valmy-sarah-mcinnis-live-at-manning-memorial-chapel-tickets-875354889037?utm-campaign=social&utm-content=attendeeshare&utm-medium=discovery&utm-term=listing&utm-source=cp&aff=ebdsshcopyurl\n.\n.\n.\nScroll down to read more:\nValmy is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who’s been following the ocean and making home on the East Coast. Exploring the complexities of relationship\, loss\, and healing\, she uses her folk-influenced music to tell stories about loving and stumbling your way through the dark. Now based in St. John’s\, Newfoundland\, Valmy creates and performs from a place of honesty and wonder by weaving melodic swells and atmospheric harmonies with her contemplative writing. Valmy independently released her debut full-length album\, ‘The In Between’\, in September 2023. This collection of songs\, half which were written during her time living in Wolfville\, was given new life through original arrangements\, and received warmly by listeners. Valmy received MusicNL 2023 nominations for Rising Star and Folk Artist of the Year\, is an ECMA 2024 nominee\, and is looking forward to connecting with Maritime audiences during her upcoming Autumn 2024 tour. The opportunity to return to the Valley where her songwriting voice was nurtured\, to share the stage with dear friend and musical companion\, Sarah McInnis\, is the highlight of her spring.\nhttps://valmymusic.com\nhttps://valmy.bandcamp.com\nSarah McInnis\nSinger/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Sarah McInnis\, of Peterborough\, Ontario\, is a storyteller\, writing meaningful\, personal\, and relatable lyrics through which audience members can connect. Sarah’s songs come from having to travel to the raw\, twisted centers of insecurity\, vulnerability\, shame\, and grief\, to hold them gently\, illuminate\, forgive\, and thank them. With warm vocals and guitar in hand\, Sarah has the ability to change the feeling in the room\, giving listener’s honest\, true\, and personal stories that remind them that they are not alone in the serious\, silly\, and serendipitous parts of life. In 2023\, six years after her debut EP\, Farmer\, Coal Miner\, Sarah released Threads\, 8 original songs based on the stories of 8 Atlantic Canadians – 4 at end-of-life\, 4 who have lost loved ones. The album features a host of talented Atlantic-based artists and is accompanied by a short documentary that saw Sarah travelling the Atlantic provinces to gather stories of love and heartbreak. Through this project Sarah shows that in life and death\, music connects us all.\nhttps://sarahmcinnis.com\nhttps://sarahmcinnis.bandcamp.com\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/964106898040261/

Hailing from the vibrant city of Halifax\, Nova Scotia\, this female-fronted ensemble has carved their path through the industry with a blend of showmanship\, originality\, and unparalleled musicianship. Their electrifying performances have left audiences in awe across the expanse of Canada\, sharing stages with titans of rock such as Buckcherry\, The Glorious Sons\, and The Headpins.\nTooth & the Fang is the Folk/Rock outlet for Singer/Songwriter Geoff Smith and his revolving door of musicians from New Brunswick\, Canada. Performing both as a lonely troubadour and a thunderous 4 piece band\, Tooth & the Fang has graced the stages of festivals such as Pop Montreal and the Halifax Pop Explosion. Forever weary of being pigeonholed\, they’ve shared the stage with a wide variety of artists\, from chanteuse Julie Doiron to rockers Solids and The Sadies. SUMMARY:Living Roots- Union Duke/Lynne Hanson at Klub Khrome
DESCRIPTION:Our Double headliner show\, you will not want to miss\nUnion Duke makes their long-awaited return to Fredericton (5 years) and Canada’s Queen of Americana team up for this one time show..\nLynne Hanson at 7 PM\nUnion Duke at 8:15 PM\nTickets: $20 adv/$25 door/festival pass\nhttps://locarius.io/events/664/living-roots-union-dukelynne-hanson-at-klub-khrome\nPasses here\nhttps://locarius.io/events/566/living-roots-music-festival-2024-festival-pass\nLiving Roots Music Festival recognizes that it is situated\non unceded\, unsurrendered Wolastoqey Territory.\nUnion Duke is two fifths country\, two fifths city\, and one fifth whiskey. They have been described as a raucous collision of alt-rock and twang\, bringing crowds to their feet with songs from the heart. Soaring harmonies\, driving rhythm\, and an infectious enthusiasm have seen these five guys from youth to young manhood and helped carve out a space for themselves in the annals of Canadiana.\nWith three full-length albums\, many singles\, countless festival stages\, thousands of records sold\, and hundreds of thousands of kilometres of road behind them\, the band is excited to be touring new music and winning new fans on their return to the endless highway.\nDuring their latest hiatus due to the Covid years\, Union Duke has been writing furiously and are excited to bring new music to their loyal fans. If you hope to catch them live\, you better get your tickets early\, because these fellas have a knack for selling out shows months in advance. Catch them while you can!\nToo tough for folk and too blues-influenced for country\, Lynne Hanson’s brand of porch music with a little red dirt can turn on a dime from a sunshine\, blue sky ballad to a full on thunderstorm of gritty Americana swamp from one song to the next. Her hard living music has garnered her the nickname “Canada’s Queen of Americana.” And while her deep\, bluesy croon has drawn comparisons to Lucinda Williams and Gillian Welch\, it’s the poetry of her lyrics that really sets her apart.\nWinner of two Canadian Folk Music Awards\, Hanson is known for her high energy\, roots guitar driven live performances\, whether playing solo or with her band the Good Intentions. She has an uncanny way of connecting with her audience with an authenticity that is as entertaining as it is disarming.\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/1558672794917395/
