DESCRIPTION:Come out for another chill evening of sipping and poking at Haven Music Hall! Kass is a queer spiritual tattoo artist and owner of Resilience Tattoo. She’s been tattooing for the last 5 years and specializes in illustrative blackwork and colour tattoos. Kass aims to cultivate a mindful and supportive tattoo experience and this concept has been adapted for an evening of tattoos at Haven! DJ Auntie Molly will be spinning vibey tunes from 7pm-10pm!\nFor this event\, Kass will be tattooing predrawn flash designs only\, released on the Facebook and Instagram pages as well as our website www.resiliencetattoosj.ca. Be sure to check there on May 13 to see what designs are up for grabs!\nEvent is from 4pm-10pm\, first come first serve for tattoos! We recommend getting to the event early to secure your spot! If you’d like to get tattooed\, the tattoo artist’s apprentice will take your information and add you to the appointment schedule. Those who aren’t getting tattooed are welcome to hang out and listen to the tunes!\n19+\, PWYC/free entry to the space. In August of 2023\, they released their debut album\, “At The Mall\,” a danceable 12-track offering that confronts hardships without taking itself too seriously. On their debut\, the band camouflages pop sensibilities with wiry guitar work\, intertwining bass and drum parts\, and hook-laden\, nonchalant vocals. In their latest efforts\, Absolute Losers shed the camouflage and proudly bear their knack for catchy melodies\, soaring harmonies\, and straight-to-point pop songwriting.\nShaped by the aesthetic sensibilities of vintage UK/New Zealand indie pop\, Montreal’s Prism Shores blend the genre’s jangling guitars and deliberate melodies with traces of shoegaze\, dream pop\, and post-punk\, refracting their influences through a lens distinctly their own. DESCRIPTION:Since our first ecstatic dance event in Saint John was a great success\, why not do it again?!\nJoin us for an ecstatic dance/ movement event in the heart of Saint John\, New Brunswick\, where we’ll come together to celebrate movement\, music\, and community.\nDate: Tuesday June 11th\, 2024\nTime: 7pm – 9pm **Please arrive a few minutes early or on time so that we can all start together.**\nLocation: The Kent Theatre\, 24 Coburg St\, Saint John\, NB\nWhat is Ecstatic Dance?\nEcstatic dance is more than just movement; it’s a mindful practice\, a sacred journey of self-discovery through dance and music. Unlike traditional dance settings\, there are no choreographed routines\, no judgments\, and no expectations. Participants are invited to let go of their inhibitions\, surrender to the music\, and move intuitively from the depths of their souls. In other words\, ecstatic movement is a form of self-expression.\nWho is this for?\n\nAll bodies looking to explore ecstatic movement.\n\nWhat to Expect:\n\nDiverse Music: Diverse playlist spanning various genres and tempos\, from ambient sounds to tribal beats\, allowing you to explore a spectrum of emotions and sensations.\nSafe Space: This event is a judgment-free zone where you can express yourself authentically without fear of criticism. We celebrate diversity and inclusivity\, welcoming people from all backgrounds and walks of life. There will be ZERO tolerance for discrimination of any kind.\nCommunity Connection: Join fellow dancers in a shared journey of self-expression and liberation. DESCRIPTION:Come out to Haven Music Hall on June 15 for a morale-boosting\, dancey time on June 15th at 8pm! Featuring the fine vinyl selections of the incredible DJ Sokinodu\, who will be spinning ALL vinyl ALL night!\n8pm-midnight\nall ages\nThis is a fundraising event for Haven Music Hall\, all funds will go to replacing items stolen in a recent break-in. Those who cannot afford to contribute financially are very welcome to join the event! $10 suggested/PWYC\, no one turned away for lack of funds!\nIf you’re unable to attend the event but would like to make a contribution\, send us a DM!\nNote from Haven owners Abby & Sid:\nWe have been so grateful to receive all the offers of support and words of encouragement from our community. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to express your concern and to reinforce your enthusiasm for what we do at Haven Music Hall!! We love our music scene and community\, and we feel very much like it loves us back <3\nMuch love\,\nA&S\n—–\nAccessibility\nHaven Music Hall is a street-level small music venue without fixed seating. This show is combination standing and seating room only. Our entrance exterior is a 34″ wide door that has a small lip/step up from the street. Once inside\, our entrance vestibule has three steps up into the space with an interior entrance opening of 70″. We have two single-use washrooms with toilets. If you’d like more information about accessing our space please email abigail@havenmusichall.com.\nAll Ages Show Details\nThis is a wet/dry show\, meaning both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks are served. All patrons will be ID’d upon entry and given a coloured bracelet corresponding with their ticket type (19+ or -19). Bartenders will also be checking IDs at the bar. During all ages shows we are careful not to serve multiple drinks to one person\, so if you’re buying your 19+ friend a beer please bring them to the bar to order with you! All ages are welcome but only 19+ patrons with ID’s may purchase alcohol. Patrons aged 15 and under must be accompanied by a guardian.\nSafer Spaces Policy/Code of Conduct\nHaven Music Hall (HMH) is committed to ensuring a safer show experience for musicians\, audiences\, staff\, and volunteers. If you see or experience any form of harassment or abuse please inform the bar staff on site. If you experience harassment or abuse and wish to inform us after the fact please email abigail@havenmusichall.com. This email is read by the HMH owners only and any reports of safety violations will be treated as confidential. Incidents that are reported in real time are written up by the handling staff member and are confidential and kept on file. Abuse and harassment of an audience member\, musician\, HMH staff\, security\, or volunteers will result in immediate ejection from the premises\, potential probationary period\, and potential banning from the premises.
