SUMMARY:Totally 90's Kick off
DESCRIPTION:Saint John Pride is taking over the Market Square Atrium for an Epic 90’s Kick off Bash! Actually\, to get REALLY technical\, we’re taking it over for TWO EPIC 90’s Kick off Bashes.\nOn August 9th\, the first day of Saint John Pride Week\, we’ll be kicking it off 90’s style with a back to back kick off bash for everyone to enjoy.\nOur fabulous DJ’s\, DJ Circuit Witch and DJ Mike Red.Blue will be spinning a set of amazing 90’s tunes for you to dance to.\nBut that’s not all. Maybe was just a fever dream our president had\, or maybe it’s one of those Mandela effect things\, but in Saint John in the ACTUAL 90’s some madman/genius had a children’s Spice Girls Lip Sync competition in Brunswick Square. Kids donned their best girl power getups and choreographed their way to lip sync/impersonation supremacy.\nSo we’ll be taking applications for groups of folks who want to show off their skills by impersonating the Brits that brought about the girl power movement. We will take groups of 2-6 and if you’re brave enough\, single spice girls.\nYou can apply here:\nhttps://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdozevYeXz0cAMqxa-m9OkzR0sYNLnAky60zAIdjCpcFDkfOw/viewform?usp=sharing\nThen our audience will help our super secret judges pick out the group that reigns supreme and they will each go home with a super secret prize for all their hard work.\nThe first part of the bash will take place between 7:00pm – 9:00pm (Doors open at 6:30pm) and it will be ALL AGES with a huge focus on our Youths 18 and under. DJ Circuit Witch will be spinning the tunes!\nThe Second half of the bash are for all our 19+ “90’s kids” and will run from 9:30pm – 12:30am where DJ Mike Red.Blue will take over!\nWhen you click on “get tickets” make sure you click August 9th on the calendar and the different ticket times will come up!\nhttps://www.ticketleap.events/tickets/saint-john-pride/totally-90-s-kick-off-party\nTickets are FREE\, but pre-registration is required.\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/337644362724338/

DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, September 8\, 2024\n7:00 p.m.  11:55 p.m. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSingle Mothers was started by poet and ex-gold prospector Drew Thomson in London Ontario\, Canada around 2008. The band has had a constant revolving door of members and even Thomson has been out of the band at times. At one point\, when Thomson was in the Canadian North gold prospecting\, there were 2 iterations of Single Mothers going at the same time with totally different members. The band has released 3 albums and a number of EP’s all with different members\, but critically acclaimed for Thomson’s lyrical wit and bite. ‘Negative Qualities’ and ‘Through A Wall’ were both nominated for prestigious Juno Awards in their home of Canada. Single Mothers have played all over North America\, the UK and Europe with bands like The Bronx\, Drug Church\, Quicksand\, Touche Amore\, Title Fight\, PUP\, Enter Shakari and many many more. \nJoined by Nova Scotian darlings Botfly! \nTicket link and more info to come! \n\nHaven Music Hall \nSeptember 8/2024 \nall ages \ndoors 8pm show 9pm \nAccessibility \nHaven Music Hall is a street-level small music venue without fixed seating. SUMMARY:Jon McKiel/Dusted (holy fuck)/Owen Steel
DESCRIPTION:All ages show featuring the amazing Jon McKiel\, Dusted (Brian Borcherdt of Holy Fuck) and Owen Steel. All ages\, $15 advance $20 at the door.\nDoors 8pm/Show 9pm\nJon Mckiel returns with a highly anticipated new album\, the long-awaited follow-up to his underground classic Bobby Joe Hope!\nThe songs of Jon McKiel are born of the bruised marshlands of remote New Brunswick\, from the craggy shores of the Atlantic coast; places where nature is a powerful wonder and the made-world is in slow decay. His new album\, Hex\, is a bloodshot pop record steeped in our dystopian present\, tempered\, across its ten tracks\, by an existential umami.\nBrian Borcherdt aka Dusted is best known as founding member of the Polaris Prize-shortlisted electro-experimental band Holy Fuck.\nThis project serves as a vehicle for more traditional songwriting\, although the sound retains many of the experimental elements he’s become known for. Dusted III offers a meditation on change and rebirth that all of us can relate to at this moment.\n“Steel has never failed to capture his audience’s attention with his own special blend of folk\, psychedelia\, and experimental bits and bites\, woven together in patchwork fashion…There is a timeless quality in much of what he does. He is an old soul. Maybe there is a connection there. A formula few have discovered. Whatever the case may be\, Steel has a new album and it is everything fans of his music could hope for.” – Matt Carter for Grid City Magazine.\n——\nAccessibility\nHaven Music Hall is a street-level small music venue without fixed seating. This show is combination standing and seating room only. Our entrance exterior is a 34″ wide door that has a small lip/step up from the street. Once inside\, our entrance vestibule has three steps up into the space with an interior entrance opening of 70″. We have two single-use washrooms with toilets. If you’d like more information about accessing our space please email abigail@havenmusichall.com.\nAll Ages Show Details\nThis is a wet/dry show\, meaning both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks are served. All patrons will be ID’d upon entry and given a coloured bracelet corresponding with their ticket type (19+ or -19). Bartenders will also be checking IDs at the bar. During all ages shows we are careful not to serve multiple drinks to one person\, so if you’re buying your 19+ friend a beer please bring them to the bar to order with you! All ages are welcome but only 19+ patrons with ID’s may purchase alcohol. Patrons aged 15 and under must be accompanied by a guardian.\nSafer Spaces Policy/Code of Conduct\nHaven Music Hall (HMH) is committed to ensuring a safer show experience for musicians\, audiences\, staff\, and volunteers. If you see or experience any form of harassment or abuse please inform the bar staff on site. If you experience harassment or abuse and wish to inform us after the fact please email abigail@havenmusichall.com. This email is read by the HMH owners only and any reports of safety violations will be treated as confidential. Incidents that are reported in real time are written up by the handling staff member and are confidential and kept on file. Abuse and harassment of an audience member\, musician\, HMH staff\, security\, or volunteers will result in immediate ejection from the premises\, potential probationary period\, and potential banning from the premises. As event coordinators we prioritize the experiences of the musicians\, staff\, and audience members\, so patrons who are being disruptive to the performance or bothering staff will be asked to stop their disruptive actions\, and may/or be asked to leave the premises\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/1585071465759627/
