SUMMARY:Free to Grow and Kozmic Blues Revue at Dolan's
DESCRIPTION:Join these two bands as they rock Dolan’s. Free to Grow will open with their original tunes influenced by Classic Rock. Then Kozmic Blues Revue will offer their “rawkus” tribute to Janis Joplin and similar sounds from the 60s and 70s.\n$10 Cover\nCome on down to Fredericton’s famous Dolan’s Pub and quaff some pops\, have one of their fantastic meals on offer\, and then stay for the show.\nKozmic Blues Revue\nThe Kozmic Blues Revue offer a rawkus tribute to Janis Joplin and similar sounds from the 60s and 70s. Presenting some of Fredericton‘s finest veteran players\, and featuring the powerhouse vocals of Daisy Coburn\, they will take you on a journey through the days of bellbottoms\, flowered headbands and fringed sleeves.\n“Their music was like a time machine\, taking everyone back to the days of trippy guitar solos and dreamy vocals. Fans of classic rock and younger folks alike got into the groove\, feeling the authenticity and passion in every riff and beat.\nKosmic Blues Revue didn’t just perform; they honored a special time in music history when being free-spirited and adventurous was the norm. Their set was a reminder of why 1960s psychedelic rock still resonates today—capturing hearts with its unique sound and the laid-back vibe that continues to inspire generations.” Jesse Bush\nFree to Grow\nFree to Grow has performed at over 40 festivals / events / venues throughout New Brunswick including in Bathurst\, Miramichi\, Moncton\, Sussex\, Gagetown\, Fredericton\, Saint John and Saint Andrews. Their original rock music is heavily influenced by “classic rock” and their songs have charted in the UK\, France\, Germany\, Spain\, South Africa\, Australia and the US and Canada. To date Free to Grow has released four studio albums plus a live album.\n“Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of influences\, Free to Grow crafts a sound that is both familiar and refreshing\, paying homage to the rock legends of the past while infusing their own unique flair and personality into each song. Whether you are a die-hard fan or a newcomer to their music\, Free to Grow’s live show is guaranteed to leave you wanting more.” Jesse Bush\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/1939260696573993/

SUMMARY:Rory Taillon Live in Fredericton
DESCRIPTION:* Rory returns to Fredericton Aug 28th\, for a special one night only performance at The Muse. Note the 8:30 start time.\nOttawa singer/songwriter Rory Taillon has gigged from coast to coast a number of times\, and those who have witnessed one of his past Fredericton stops will tell you\, he’s not just an entertainer—he’s a true\, and proven\, performer. When Rory Taillon sings\, and delivers with his trademark power and passion\, the world around him stops to listen. It’s just that simple.\n“His croon enters your cocoon and he asks questions maybe others are asking as the drifting lulls us; the Whys of this time; in the case of Rory\, the whys of touring\, of writing\, recording\, the value of song\, of life as an artist. And yet the value lies in his voice quietening those other voices\, squeezing them out. Contemplating his doubt overcomes our doubt. In his voice we hear possibility\, in his doubt we hear hope.” – -SlowCity.ca\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/767437392226278/

SUMMARY:Piano Room Series - Harvest Edition!
DESCRIPTION:About:\nWhen critically-acclaimed Canadian recording artist and versatile singer-songwriter Colin Fowlie arrived on the scene he brought with him a storied past\, unique and compelling compositions in song\, and charismatic vocal stylings. He turned heads with his debut full-length album “Party Music” and has demonstrated tremendous growth and exploration\, making an emphatic statement with his sophomore album “East of Nowhere” in 2021.\nFowlie continues to evolve his craft as not only a singer\, songwriter\, recording artist\, and touring performer but also as a music educator\, mentor\, and content creator. He spends the balance of his time with family or exploring the world on two wheels with the wind in his face.\nThe unique character of his songs fuse elements of folk\, rock\, blues and Americana/Canadiana into a special blend of universally themed storytelling that\, along with his down-to-earth personality\, create magic that audiences adore.\nColin’s discography has garnered radio airplay on campus\, community and commercial radio across Canada and has graced various charts\, both regionally and nationally\, including the #1 position on the national Folk/Roots/Blues chart. He has accrued more than 3 million views on YouTube and received a MusicNB nomination for “Breakthrough Artist of the Year” and “SOCAN Song of the Year” in 2019 an additional “Song of the Year” nomination in 2021\, and a showcase at the 2022 ECMAs. Radio stations in the UK\, Holland\, Australia\, and the USA have also embraced his music since 2015.\nhttps://www.colinfowlie.com/\nJoel Manchester was born in Digby Nova Scotia to a musical family. Singing around the campfire was commonplace\, while practicing harmonies and learning his first few chords on guitar. His father recorded several albums throughout his childhood which opened Joel’s eyes to the professional side of music. Creativity is Joel’s driving passion\, whether it’s writing songs\, painting or making films. Currently\, his main musical outlet is singing and writing songs with the band Run The River\, who have been nominated for music New Brunswick’s breakthrough artist of the year in 2021 and music video of the year in 2022.\nhttps://www.runtherivermusic.com/\nKatie Schurman is a 20-year-old Fredericton based singer/songwriter\, originally hailing from Embro\, Ontario. Singing since she could speak\, Katie was always encouraged by her family to keep her musical passions as an active part in her life. This led her to pursue musical theatre for most of her childhood. Theatre taught Katie the importance of story-telling with music and this shows in her current writing and performances.\nSince picking up the guitar at 13\, Katie has played her fair share of coffee houses\, open mics\, and gigs in Ontario and New Brunswick. Shortly after turning 19\, Katie entered the Fredericton music scene with a repertoire comprised of many favourite songs by Canadian women (Alanis Morissette\, Amanda Marshall\, Jann Arden\, Joni Mitchell\, etc). By the time Katie turned 20\, she had written an album’s worth of songs that she now frequently performs around the area. She pulls from Americana\, rock\, country\, and folk for much of her inspiration.\nDetails:\n*Donations are encouraged to help support the artist.*\nSeating will be available.\nBYO-non-alcoholic-B. (no food please)\nNo pets allowed in the Piano Room during events.\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/505179898884661/

After touring across North America in the 1970’s with multiple large acts\, Sam recorded his long awaited debut album\, New Moon in 1982. This was followed in 2017 by the popular release Never Let Me Go. He has contributed songs to many artists’ recordings over the span of his impressive 50 years in music. Along the way\, Sam Moon has shared the stage with many artists past and present\, including The Band\, Delbert McClinton\, The Guess Who\, The Beach Boys and April Wine. Sam continues to perform in duo format with Dave MacKeigan (Sam and Dave)\, as well as in Sam Moon and the Kozmic Roadhouse Band\, and the newly formed Sam and Dave and Solar Eclipse. Sam’s voice\, energy and stage presence remains dynamic and engaging\, while he still wears his trademark moo moo stage costumes to the thrill of many many long standing\, loyal fans.\nDave MacKeigan: Originally from Sydney Mines\, Nova Scotia\, Dave’s family moved to Halifax for work early in his life. He entered the music world through the Halifax City School Music program\, playing stringed instruments ranging from ukulele to double bass. After high school Dave went on the road playing rock and country music full time\, following Sam Moon\, The Oakley Band\, and Matt Minglewood. After 5 years of touring\, Dave worked full time outside of music but kept playing part time. For the last decade he has been playing in a duo with Sam Moon and hopes to keep music flowing for many years to come.\nPaula Jardine: Born in Thunder Bay Ontario to Miramichi parents\, Paula was raised in Blackville NB since childhood. Surrounded by her mother’s large family of talented Acadian musicians\, she picked up the guitar early and began playing at the fishing camps and Miramichi hootenannies by age 15. She performed locally and then spread out to the Fredericton area during university. With strong entrepreneurial spirit\, she and two friends opened a live music bar in downtown Fredericton called the Attic on King. There\, she supported the local music scene and fostered the grass roots beginnings of the Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival\, while honing her own craft as a rhythm guitar player and highly engaging singer/entertainer. She joined the Canadian Armed Forces at age 26 and completed a 20 year career as an Naval officer\, travelling the world and playing her music every chance she could. She has played local venues in the Atlantic provinces for the last 17 years\, as a soloist (Acoustic River Revival) and in bands such as the Homeless Houseband\, 32 Front Street\, Dusty Angels\, Teddy’s Roadhouse\, and Sam Moon and the Kozmic Roadhouse.\neventbrite.ca/e/sam-moon-dave-mackeigan-paula-jardine-harvest-music-festival-matinee-tickets\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/466759389596861/
