SUMMARY:The Jenn Russell Quintet LIVE @ The Muse
DESCRIPTION:We’ve got another BIG night of jazz coming up for you at The Muse\, as we get ready to host “The Jenn Russell Quintet”.\nFormed over a decade ago Jenn’s music harkens back to the big band swing era of the 1930s and 1940s with a heavy blues influence. Her inspiration has come from the Glen Miller Big Band and other genres including bluegrass\, New Orleans jazz and Jump blues. Her song writing style is a nod to the chanteuse masters Ella Fitzgerald\, Diana Krall\, Jill Barber\, and Caro Emerald.\nJenn’s tongue and cheek lyrics are filled with romances which sparkle with many clichés and innuendos that are entertaining and toe tapping. If there is a dance floor\, you’ll want to be on it.\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/366083636448558/

SUMMARY:MYTHOS: RAGNAROK - FREDERICTON\, NB
DESCRIPTION:**TICKETS ON SALE NOW**\nUnique in the world\, Mythos: Ragnarök skillfully weaves ancient myths and legends into an original story. It is the only theatre experience to feature a cast composed of classically-trained professional wrestlers\, creating some of the most intense and thrilling fight scenes ever to grace the stage. The story follows Odin and Loki as they struggle to overcome insurmountable odds—including primaeval giants\, rival gods and goddesses\, and each other’s conflicting ambitions—in a darkly comic adaptation of the well-known Norse myths.\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/3331876347111698/

SUMMARY:PASSARIM - Bossa Nova from Brazil
DESCRIPTION:We’re very excited to host a performance by the Brazilian quartet PASSARIM who are touring Canada for the first time!\nPASSARIM is comprised of four musicians and songwriters who share a love for Brazilian music\, especially the Bossa Nova of Antonio Carlos Jobim and João Gilberto.\nThe project started in 2017 celebrating the 30 year anniversary of Jobim’s first gold album Passarim (1987). From São Paulo’s intense indie music scene\, João Leão\, Tika\, Kika and Igor Caracas carefully adapted the album’s original vocal and orchestral arrangements into a reduced formation with unique style\, arriving at a renewed Bossa Nova vibe with vocal effects\, electric guitars\, synths and a touch of psychedelia. The performance is classy\, captivating and magnetic. The group has showcased with great success through the main jazz venues and theatres in and around São Paulo (Brazil) since 2017\, also releasing two official singles in 2020.\nThe year of 2024 marks 30 years since the passing of our beloved Jobim\, and to celebrate his life and art the group will present a very special performance in São Paulo featuring Jaques Morelenbaum and Paula Morelenbaum\, two of the original members of Jobim’s ensemble during the Passarim phase. The group will also have their first international tour performing in Canada in July.\nPASSARIM | July 12 | Charlotte Street Arts Centre | 7:30 p.m.Tix and $20 in advance and $25 at the door.\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/996583838133979/
