DESCRIPTION:MONDAY EVENINGS\, 6- 9 pm\, JAN. 15 – FEB. 26\, 2024\n-Cost: $375 + tax ($431.25 total). Includes materials- up to one bag of clay\, kiln firings\, glazes\, & use of apron and tools. No need to invest hundreds of dollars in tools! Additional clay may be purchased if required.\n– This class is suitable for absolute beginners\, as well as those with some experience. Practice is required to expand your skills\, no matter what your experience level.\n– Learn the basics of throwing on the wheel\, as well as trimming (removing the excess clay)\, and a little hand-building.\n– You should be prepared for a challenge. Wheel throwing is much more difficult than anyone expects. 🙂\n– We will explore several decoration techniques\, and students will glaze their pieces in the last class.\n– Small class-size of 5 students max. Each student has their own pottery wheel to use.\n– Last 25 minutes of class is for clean-up.\n– Work will be glaze-fired after the course is complete\, to be picked up at a later date. SUMMARY:Six Week Class: An Introduction to Drawing
DESCRIPTION:This hands-on six week class will equip students with a wide range of drawing strategies and will get them ready to start making masterpieces of their own. This course is great for students looking to build general skill sets that can be transferred to all sorts of arts and drawing styles. Students will use pen or pencil on paper as their medium and will leave each class with a new piece of work in their portfolios.\nEach lesson will start with a short intro to drawing theory followed by exercises and time to apply what they’ve learned directly onto works of their own. Topics of study will include lighting\, general composition\, and perspective theories. The class will focus on developing skills in drawing features and elements that help bring portraits to life\, such as posture/ eye and facial expressions. DESCRIPTION:Join The Harbour Lights Campaign Team\, and the CBC Information Morning Team for a day at the City Market!\nThis year we’re excited to bring you a full-day of activities and opportunities to get involved at the City Market\, all while supporting the Harbour Lights campaign.Here is a list of activities for the day:\n☕Annual Harbour Lights Mug sale\nTaking place at 6am at Uncorked – Cost is $50/ mug while quantities last\n255 limited-edition custom Harbour Lights mugs will be on sale starting Friday\, Dec. 20 at the Saint John City Market show.\nPlease note that Harbour Lights annual mugs will only be sold in-person this year. Mugs cost $50 with a limit of one per person. They go on sale at 6 a.m. in person so please get there early – they sell fast!\nThis year’s design was created by Francine Baxter\, a potter\, jewelry maker and artist living on the Kingston Peninsula.\n🎙️CBC Information Morning show live on location from 6am-8am\nJoin us live and in person for a morning of entertainment.
