Tim Blackmore “Music from the Time of Charles de La Tour”

July 19, 2024 @ 1:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Music from the Time of Charles de La Tour! Included in our regular admissions.
An entertaining 30-minute program of French songs and dances played by Tim Blackmore on copies of 17th century recorders like those the inhabitants of Fort La Tour would have known. He enlivens his performance with entertaining comments about the music and instruments of the time. One of the pieces he plays is the “Courante de Mme de La Tour”, a haunting dance tune from the Perche region of France where Françoise-Marie Jacquelin spent her childhood.
