Formed in the summer of 2018, Capital 6 brings together 6 diverse musicians with broad musical influences to explore and write new music together. Along the way, they have released 2 albums, earning them 2 ECMA nominations in 2025, along with 1 MusicNB award nomination in 2021, and a #1 spot on the national jazz charts for their debut album.
Fredericton-based My Black Ram wear their influences like patches on a jean jacket: post-punk indie rock, synth pop, and experimental ambience. It shouldn’t make sense but it does. The result is fuzzed-out catchy rock that is at once familiar and fresh.
Orchidae is the project of Gatineau based Canadian Taiwanese artist Yolande Laroche. Her debut album True Beginning, out April 4 2025 (Birthday Cake Records) marks Yolande’s first step as a lead songwriter after a decade of experience playing as a core member of art-rock band Pony Girl (Paper Bag Records). With a background in clarinet, she combines her classical training with avant-pop elements, creating a sound that is both intimate and profound as she traverses confident electronic pop songs to heartfelt piano ballads. Exploring themes of self-discovery, transformation and personal growth, Yolande’s project Orchidae sees the artist in full bloom.
