Right in the Eye (En plein dans l’oeil) is a movie-concert experience, celebrating and breathing new life into the works of legendary filmmaker Georges Méliès. The show begins with an introduction and commentary, and includes ten of Méliès’ best-known films. Each of Méliès’ films is given a new, original score, composed by artist and creator Jean-François Alcoléa, and performed with a unique orchestral arrangement of over thirty instruments (including saucepans, wind chimes, musical saw, and many more). The films are also treated with unique and subtle lighting and scenic design. The result is a poetic, playful, and unexpected tribute to one of cinema’s founding masters.

– You still need a ticket. Book your seats in advance at tickets.theplayhouse.ca, by calling our box office at 458-8344, or visiting us at 686 Queen Street.
– At the performance, we will provide an envelope and ask audience members to pay whatever amount they wish (based on their own individual experience) following the performance.
