KIM DOOLITTLE
Singer, Songwriter, Storyteller and Recording Artist, Kim Doolittle is bringing her Show “50 Years a Singer” to Kings Theatre.
This self proclaimed “Road Scholar” will bring a retrospective of her storied musical journey, starting in The Annapolis Valley in the 70’s that has spanned decades Land and Sea. She is influenced by Roots, Blues, Gospel and Maritime Folk. Interspersed with her Original Music, she will include an Homage to The Great Girl Singers who inspired her from Janis Joplin, Heart, Bonnie Raitt, Patsy Cline, Joni Mitchell, Bette Midler and Tina Turner to name a few. She has come full circle to her Maritime Roots and is looking forward to sharing her Muse on the boards of Kings with her band “The Doctors”.
THE DOCTORS
Tom Bona‘s simple, funky, in the pocket grooves and innate feel for what a band needs have earned him a place as one of Canada’s premier drummers. He is an 7X winner for “Drummer of the Year” (Maple Blues) and has played with Myles Goodwyn, Sue Foley, Soulstack, Raoul and The Bigtime, Colin James, The Bourbon Tabernacle Choir, Martha and The Muffins, Damhnait Doyle, Jeff Healey, Morgan Davis and many more. Kim has known him for 3 decades and is thrilled he will be part of “The Doctors”. Check him out! www.tombona.com
Donnie Donahue is a truly unique guitar player who literally gets inside of the Music and plays like no other. He is Dynamic, Energetic and delivers a blistering performance that is perfectly subtle until it is time to soar. His history in Country, Punk, Rock and Roll and Rockabilly and as one of the founding members of the Razorbacks make him a perfect foil for Kim whom he has made music with since the 80’s.
Mark Bezanson on bass. While not a classic blues man at first blush, it is undeniable that blues and soul music runs deep in Marks singing, bass playing and songwriting. Mark’s music is a mix of styles that combines elements of Sting, John Mayer, and Keb Mo.
Alex Constable is a very special Musician. Based in Annapolis, NS, he is the Minister at the United Church but also an accomplished Musician in his own right, playing Saxophone, Flute, Guitar and singing with a beautiful, resonant voice. As well as playing with “The Doctors”, locally he sings with the Tap Room Growlers.
